DNN Event Schedule

The DotNetNuke Event Schedule module is a full featured Event Schedule display module designed to allow for the orderly display of multi-track event information.  The module renders output in a simple table layout with all styling via CSS.  This allows for easy modifications to ensure that colors used blend in nicely with existing skin/site layout.  In the current form the module supports the display of up to 6 individual tracks and a total of 6 types of "Schedule Items", or visible areas of the schedule.  Below is a sample display of the module with two tracks defined.

Schedule Item Types

The following is a listing of each Schedule Item Type available.  Click on a specific type for information on the inputs as well as an example of the default generated layout.

The schedule Header type displays a bold text header that spans the entire display table.  An example of this display is as follows.

Inputs

A single ext input for "Header Text" is provided during setup of this type.

The Track Listing type displays the list of tracks, with titles and descriptions, as well as an optional "header" value in the first column.  The below example is a partial display of a schedule with a header value of "Session One".

Inputs

Optional "Header Text" value.

The Session Listing type displays information on a specific set of sessions.  This is the most commonly used type as it allows for the output of detailed event information.  Below is a partial example of the display of sessions.

Inputs

The number of inputs will vary depending on the number of tracks defined for the module instance.  You will be prompted for "Time", which is a free-form text box to allow greatest flexibility, and one input for each track defined.

The Cross Session Event type displays an event that spans all tracks defined.  This ia typically used to indicate keynote and other types of sessions that apply for all event attendees.  Below is a sample rendering of this type.

Inputs

Two inputs are required for this type, the Time and Event Text.  The time as with session times is a free-form text input allowing a diverse amount of information to be input.

The Cross Session Activity type renders an item that is considered a "break" in the standard flow of the event.  Typically used for displaying break or lunch information.  A sample rendering of this type is below

Inputs

This type prompts for a single input of Activity Text allowing complete control over the renderings of break items.

The Alternates Listing type displays alternate session information for each track.  Typically placed at the end of a day's event to indicate potential repacement sessions should a speaker be unavailable.  The following is a sample rendering of this type.

Inputs

This type has one input for each track in the event, multiple alternates can be defined inside a single track input.
