Hello,

The help for the Email field says Only visible to administrators, however this seems to be visible to all users, authenticated or unauthenticated. Please help as I need it to be visible to admins only. I'm using DNN 5.1.4 if that helps.

Thanks

Hello,

I am sorry for the delay, we were out of the office last week attending DevConnections/OpenForce and got a little behind on our forum posts.

You will need to modify the display template for the module to change the display format.

Hi Mitchel,

Thank you for your response. I still can't find where to set that option. The best I could do, is go to the module's settings and disable Show Email Field. But that would just hide the email field completely. I want users to be able to enter their email address, but their email address should only be visible to the admin i.e when viewing the guestbook entries, the email should not be visible to the public. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks

The display template for the module can be found via the Language Editor. You can access this via Admin -> Languages.

Sorry, where exactly am I supposed to look for. I have gone to Admin > Languages and then to the specific module (Guestbook) and then App_LocalResources. Am I supposed to go to ViewGuestbook.ascx? And do you mean the ItemTemplate rather then display template which by the way I can't seem to find it. Anyway if it's the ItemTemplate that i'm supposed to modify, then what exactly am I to do. I can see the [EMAIL] token. So please advise how to modify it so that it's only visible to the administrator. Deleting the entire [EMAIL] row will probably not show the email to the admin. Sorry for all such questions as i'm not really a programmer and have to set this up all by myself.

Any further help would be appreciated.

Thanks for your support.

You can simply "remove" the email token, the administration view that allows for approval/deletion of entries will always show the Email column.
