Is it possible to show one or more of the contents of the module as expended when you visit a page prior to clicking on the link/plus? What would be ideal would be to have an ability use a hyperlink to land on a page with a particular content item opened up and displayed.

You can set the "Show Expanded" option on individual items to ensure that they are visible to users on load.

There is no URL linking currently supported for expanding.
