Hello Mitchel,

When you are looking for something to do, or thinking about the next DNN module to develop, please consider making the Image shrinker tool into a DNN module for adding and uploading images to specified folders.

I have several portals where users either struggle with resizing photos, or they just upload huge files and they use them in text modules or others modules such as articles, with terrible results (a 3 meg photo kills a web page).

A photo / image upload module that allows a user to select and upload them to the system, and takes care of auto resized every time would be really sweet! This could also be used to allow non admins the ability to upload pictures to some folders.

Ideas for module instance settings.
- resize settings options (select one)
- destination folder

Other features
- Select multiple photos for uploading at one time (just like the Ventrian photo gallery does)
- Upload a zip file of photos, decompress and resize on upload.

Thanks!
Terence

Terence,

That is an AWESOME idea!

It will be really easy to get something figured out, I just have to get some time to put it into the "Free module queue", which keeps backing up!

I already have the image resize code working where the only "hard" part is managing the files as they are uploaded.
